QUALITY CONTROL
Accuracy and quality are our primary purposes when compounding. Only qualified personnel are involved in the compounding process. Ingredients used in compounding are of the highest quality.
Equipment is serviced, validated (where applicable) and calibrated on a regular basis.
Recordkeeping is a valuable and traceable tool to ensure safety and quality control.
We send our compound preparations to a trusted independent laboratory on a regular basis, their tests ensuring that our product meets its intended purpose.
Safety measures and quality control ensure safe, reliable compounds.
THE VALUE OF COMPOUNDING IS EVIDENT TO PATIENTS
- When patient is side-effect intolerant (e.g. nausea, gastric discomfort, headache), thus preventing them from taking standard medication
- In the case of patients with unusual or unique needs (e.g. lactose intolerant, alcohol free or preservative free medication)
- As it allows medication to be customized with flavors chosen by doctor or patient
- As different forms of medication are offered- if the patient has difficulty swallowing capsules it could be changed to an oral solution or topical cream form
- As undesired medication ingredients can be eliminated
- As it is possible to add vitamins/herbal supplements in desired strengths/ combinations
THE VALUE OF COMPOUNDING IS EVIDENT TO DOCTORS
- In conditions where commercially available medication fails to bring the desired therapeutic outcome
- When conventional medication is in short supply or unavailable (e.g. Vitamin A or DHEA), or discontinued by manufacturer.
- When the required strength or dosage form is not commercially available (instead of breaking unmarked tablets into fourths or eights to receive proper dose).
- By-passing the liver/ gut by sublingual oral drops or a transdermal dosage form
- Combining compatible medications into a single dosage form
- Formulating new compounds on request, as need arise
